I Press On | Day 45

This is Day 40 of 48 of the #TruthAboutWhoYouAre series. Thank you so much for joining in on this journey with me. I hope you are inspired over this 7 week series.

Today’s post is written by someone I have known since I was a little girl and absolutely love! She has helped me successfully navigate through many of life's challenges. Her name is Meghan Robinson  Her and her husband @careyrobinsonoc are my pastors at @theocmovement. She's one of the most passionate people I know and I am so excited to share her thoughts on today's verse. Follow along in her journey and inspiring posts via Instagram: @divapastor

I press on toward the goal to win the prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. - Philippians 3:14

A few years ago a handful of leaders in our church decided to participate in the Camp Pendleton Mud Run. I had never done a "run" before and I'm not a particular fan of mud....but I was persuaded to join in because I didn't want to miss out on this adventure with a handful of my closest friends! It couldn't be that bad....right? Wrong!!!!

This 5K took place on the Camp Pendleton training ground and began with us being doused by a fire engine hose and continued through dirt trails, mud pits, up incredibly steep hills, over obstacle courses, under army nets (in an army crawl), through 2 mud pools and finally to the finish line. It was DISGUSTING! It was hard! It was exhausting! But, oh was it worth it!!!! The feeling of accomplishment at the end of that race, linking arms and crossing the finish line with my good friends and the shower that followed was the BEST reward ever!!!

Our life as a Christian is like that 5K (x1000) We have been put here on this earth with a purpose, for such a time as this! The goal is not to make it to the finish line avoiding all obstacles and staying as clean as possible, coming in as a lone ranger. No...the goal is to grab everyone we know and invite them into this amazing race called life! To navigate the obstacles together, encouraging and cheering one another on! We may get messy along the way. But the goal is to finish the race, clinging to faith and bringing as many people with us across that finish line as we possibly can! That when we make it to heaven, Jesus will say "Well done good and faithful servant!"

We've been given a mission by Jesus to "go into all the world and make disciples!" The race that has been set before us will have it's share of challenges, adventure and excitement! Let's run this race with endurance (not giving up) bringing everyone we can with us and then we will party together one day in heaven with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords! The reward is rich....and it is worth it

xoxo
