I am the head and not the tail; I am above only and not beneath - Deuteronomy 28:13
The enemy attacks us at the point of our greatest strength.  I believe the reason our identity is attacked so strongly is because when we really understand all that Jesus's life and resurrection has given us access to we become unstoppable for the kingdom of God.  Here scripture so plainly reminds us of our position.  No situation changes this truth.  The enemy will do everything he can to intimidate us and try to convince us otherwise.  I have used this verse as a replacement thought any time when I begin to feel or think defeated thoughts.  It is not enough to identify the thoughts we have that are contrary to God and just try to stop thinking them.  We are more successful when we find those thoughts, hold them captive, and replace them with the word of God.  That is how I stand on His promises.  Not just by stopping the negative chatter in my mind, but digging into the word of God and stating that until it becomes my truth.  Don't take my word for it though, I challenge you to do the same. Speak this "I am.." statement any time you are feeling defeated until peace comes and watch how your boldness increases.

The scriptures used for this series came from Joyce Meyers download, “Who God Made You To Be”
